From Street to Strategy - Managing Police Operations
Title: From Street to Strategy - Managing Police Operations
When: Friday, October 23, 2026
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Effective law enforcement leaders must be able to transition from tactical decision-making on the street to disciplined operational planning at the supervisory and command levels. Police supervisors are routinely required to manage complex incidents, deploy personnel and resources, and make decisions that carry operational, legal, and safety consequences.
This course provides law enforcement supervisors and command staff with a structured framework for planning, managing, and evaluating police operations. Developed by Lieutenant Colonel Fred Fife (NJSP Ret.), and Captain Allen Bloodgood (Ret.), the program draws on decades of operational and command experience managing large-scale law enforcement operations, critical incidents, and complex investigations.
Participants will learn how experienced law enforcement leaders develop operational plans, manage dynamic multi -jurisdictional incidents, and conduct disciplined after-action reviews that improve future operational performance. The course integrates legal considerations, operational risk management, command decision-making, and structured evaluation processes that allow agencies to learn from operations and continuously improve.
