Instructors: Bergen County Rapid Deployment Force (RDF)

This is an eight-hour class presented by members of the Bergen County Rapid Deployment Force (RDF).  The RDF is trained and has utilized FEMA certified Field Force Operations (FFO) in training as well as practical applications.  FFO provides state and local law enforcement personnel the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for and successfully mitigate threat incidents involving civil disorder.  The instructors will combine classroom instruction with practical hands-on exercises to allow officers the chance to practice concepts and tactics.  Principles, tactics, and procedures demonstrated in this introductory level course are arrest procedures, team tactics, demonstrator tactics, squad formations, communication, organization, crowd dynamics and crowd behavior, as well as legal aspects and interacting with the press associated with deployment in the framework of the New Jersey Attorney General Guidelines.  This class is directed to provide a basic level understanding of these tactics for use in patrol officer response for crowd control in all situations.
